Transferring your old world to your new server is very simple, just follow the steps below!
- Download your world files from your current server, the directory where these are stored is different on Windows and Linux. You will need to download 2 files. 1 file will have the file extension ".db" and the other file will have a file extension of ".fwl" so for example your two files would look like. "myworld.db" and "myworld.fwl"
Windows: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds/ - Once you have downloaded these files you will need to go to your servers file manager and go to the Linux directory listed above. (If /.config isn't there, start your server, and then stop it. This will generate the folder.) Place both of the files within the /worlds directory.
- To get the server to use your world go to the Startup Tab of your server, and under "World Name" type in the name of your world, in our example above we used "myworld". Do not include the file extensions.
- When your server starts up it will now be using your old world files on your new server.
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR FILES AS THIS WILL BREAK THEM!
